On May 21, 2024 the world became a little darker as Bita Buenrostro took her final breath, surrounded by her loving family. The sun rose and the world welcomed Bita in 1973, a day the world became a little bit brighter. Bita lived a full and beautiful life, filled with laughter. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Bita is survived by her mother Maryam; sister Cece; brother-in-law Darko; aunt Aki; uncle David; cousins Soheil and Sahar; husband Ryan; nieces Sidney and Scarlett; and many family members in Iran and Sweden.

Family and friends will meet Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 North State Street, Chicago, Illinois 60654 for a 9:30 a.m. Visitation followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Free parking for Holy Name Cathedral is available at 14 West Superior Street (between Dearborn Street and State Street). Please use any nonreserved parking space on Lower Level One (LL1) or Lower Level Two (LL2).
