Br. William G. Lanning, O.F.M. Born into Eternal Life on March 5, 2026.

Br. Bill served God's People throughout the Midwest, and at St. Peter's since 1985. He worked untiringly and faithfully in the business office, counting nearly every single collection taken at Masses, along with other financial matters. Hundreds of people know Br. Bill from his faithful presence and assistance in the front office, greeting strangers and friends with Franciscan hospitality. Br. Bill was always ready for conversation and coffee, and he willingly gave his heart and service to friars without any hesitation. He was and is a wonderful example of the Lord's words in Matthew 25: 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful. Enter into the joy of your master!'

Visitation Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at St. Peter's Church, 110 West Madison Street, Chicago, Illinois 60602 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Vespers at 5:10 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at St. Peter's Church, 110 West Madison Street, Chicago, Illinois 60602 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
