David Dean
Dickson
April 23, 2023
David Dean Dickson was born in 1959 in Oak Park, Illinois. He is survived by his dear sisters Pamela Gardner (Glenn) and Donna Beers (David) and loving fraternal twin Brother Steven Dickson (Brenda). Also surviving are his niece Lauren Gardner Horton (Jarin), nephews Steven Dickson II (Mel), Kevin Dickson (Janet), Matthew Beers (Michele) and Michael Beers (Caitlin). He is also survived by 8 great nieces and 8 great nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents Ronald Dean Dickson and Fairl Sue Dickson (nee) Stidham.
David worked as an automobile salesman, winning many awards throughout his career. His success in part is due to the fact that he was easy to talk to and a whiz at math. He also was an excellent painter. He could cut in trim with a steady hand and no tape! David was very touched and moved by music. Often, he could be found singing, eyes closed, earbuds in, unaware anyone was looking at him. He loved going to the race track and betting on the horses. He met most of his local friends by sharing this same passion. David loved animals and children often saying they love unconditionally. He had a soft heart for people experiencing misfortune in their life. He gave away many a winter coat and provided meals for a handicapped neighbor. David helped a friend in her annual work to raise money for AIDS research.
Private interment at Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in David's memory to The Anti-Cruelty Society, 157 West Grand Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60654, 312-644–8338, www.anticruelty.org .
