Dennis Matthew "Nick" Nykaza, age 77, passed away November 25, 2012. Loving father of Darrick Nykaza, Tammy (Mark) Walther, Darren (Marybeth) Nykaza, and Nicole (Dean) Sana; dear grandfather of Nyles, Kadyn, DJ, Dakota, Dane, Christian, Kennedy and Emeri; fond friend and uncle of many. Predeceased by beloved LaRece Donna Nykaza. Visitation Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Michalik Funeral Home, 1056 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago. Mass immediately following at St. John Cantius Church, 825 N. Carpenter St. at 10:30 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Nick was born in Chicago, son of a Chicago Police Officer, and was raised by his grandmother and aunt. He attended Holy Trinity High School in Chicago. He met LaRece at CW Transport and married in 1957. Together they raised four children and had eight grandchildren. Not long after LaRece's passing, Nick was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia. Nick succumbed to the disease following a rather sudden decline. Pray that his soul enters into the kingdom of God and that he may have eternal peace with his beloved wife.
