Diane “Cookie” Felix

Diane “Cookie” Felix, 75, of River Grove, passed away on September 7, 2026.

Cookie was a lifelong Chicagoan who carried with her a strong love for her family and the people closest to her. She was the loving mother of Alejandro Lopez and Christina Lopez and the proud grandmother of eight grandsons and one granddaughter: Alex, Tony, Angelo, Gianni, Junior, Alonzo, Christian, Alessio, and Sapphire. Above all else, Cookie loved and cherished her grandchildren, who were an incredibly important part of her life.

Anyone who knew Cookie knew that she liked to keep busy. Sitting still was rarely her style. She could often be found cleaning and reorganizing something around the house, heading out for a day of shopping, or simply enjoying time with her friends. She found happiness in the everyday things and in being around the people she cared about.

During the final year of her life, Cookie also found a special kind of companionship in her dog, Carter. She loved him dearly, cared for him, and enjoyed having him by her side. He became another beloved part of her family and brought her happiness and companionship during that final chapter of her life.

Cookie leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and a lifetime of memories that will continue through her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered in the ordinary moments that made her who she was—the shopping trips, the freshly cleaned and rearranged rooms, time spent with friends, Carter nearby, and, most importantly, the love she had for her family.

In accordance with Cookie’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Her family will honor and remember her privately, carrying with them the memories and love she leaves behind.
