Elaine Duffens, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2022. She was born in Chicago. She is survived by her daughter, three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other family. She was predeceased by her husband Roy Duffens, mother and father Ethel and Ragnar Freeberg, brother Carl and sister Patrice. She cherished being a mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Elaine enjoyed a successful career as a social worker, loved animals, was past president of the Humane Society and a proud supporter of Washburn University. Elaine's adventurous spirit, wonderful sense of humor and generous, loving heart will be missed.

Visitation Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. Service at Fourth Presbyterian Church (North Michigan Avenue at Delaware Place) in Chicago, Illinois 60611. A Celebration of Life will follow.
