Elizabeth Ann Ahumada, nee Hoffmann, passed away on August 24, 2015, age 54. Beloved wife of Marco Ahumada; devoted daughter of William Joseph Jr. and Yolanda Volini Hoffmann; fond sister of Mary Ellen (Robert) Swee, Teresa (James) O'Keefe, William Hoffmann III, John (Christina) Hoffmann, Jean (Michael) Bomberger, and Catherine (Richard) Williams; loving godmother of John Swee, Maria Bomberger, Richard Williams Jr., Elizabeth O'Keefe, Clare Williams, Catherine Hoffmann, Henry Williams, Emmett Williams, Gemma Williams, and Michael Hoffmann; cherished aunt to forty-four nieces and nephews. At this time of sorrow and loss, Elizabeth is also remembered by her many friends, cousins, and extended family as having a bright smile, an embracing love, an infectious laugh, and a welcoming heart. A loyal and faithful servant of our Lord, she spent her life spreading the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Her love touched and illuminated the many souls she met as she journeyed through life; she enriched the lives of all those she encountered.

Elizabeth grew up in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. A graduate of Saint Scholastica High School and Loyola University, she excelled at business and enjoyed the challenge of growing a small company. As a former President and General Manager of Konica Computer Solutions, she inspired many of her associates by her kindness and joy. Even more, Elizabeth cherished her faith, her family, sports, and the outdoors; and she found ways to combine all in a fun-filled and loving way. Elizabeth later graduated to her more prized and dedicated vocation as a wife, loyal to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Faith. She expanded her vocation to become a spiritual mentor to many of her nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Elizabeth is kindly remembered for her special gift of reuniting families that drifted apart over the years.

In celebration of Elizabeth's life, a wake will be held Friday, August 28, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Saint John Cantius Church, 825 North Carpenter Street, Chicago, Illinois 60642. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. On Saturday, August 29, 2015, family and friends will gather for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint John Cantius Church. Interment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Lake Forest, Illinois.
