Esther Rybicki, nee Kinast, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the age of 97, at her daughter's home in Chicago, Illinois. She was born September 25, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Felix and Bernice (nee Strzok) Kinast.
Esther was a member of AMVETS Hearts Post #9 Auxiliary, she volunteered at St. John Hospital in Detroit and was a former member of Holy Innocents Church in Roseville, Michigan.
Esther was a "Virtuous Woman". She has a good spirit and enjoyed doing things to make other people happy. She enjoyed cooking and baking and will ever be remembered for her amazing pierogis and potato pancakes, tomato rice soup - that made everyone happy because when she make that everyone knew the pierogis were following and her banana oatmeal cookies. She was know for always hanging the laundry outside, saving the rinse water to reuse and ironing the sheets. She had a beautiful backyard full of roses and all other types of flowers. With their backyard lined with rosebushes, she became known in the neighborhood as The Rose Lady.
Raising her 4 children, taking care of the daily chores around the house and making sure everyone was clean and fed kept her quite busy through the years. Devoting her attention to her family was her priority. She even became a Cub Scout leader. With everything in her life she relied on everyone to get her where she needed to go. It wasn't until she was 65 that she actually learned to drive.
Esther loved everyone and everything. She especially loved, loved, loved her kids, grandchildren as well as all babies and they all loved her just as much. He kindness, generosity and gentle soul will be absent to everyone who knew her.
Beloved wife of the late Thaddeus; dear mother of Thomas (Patricia), Richard (Linda), Christine, and the late Michael; loving grandmother of Kevin, the late Kim, the late Kelly, Corey (Shalyn), Alison (Remo), Jennifer (Jason), and Christopher; great-grandmother of Dustin, Corey, Krista, Josh, Kelly, Sean, Teddy, Harriet, and Remy; great-great-grandmother of Levi, Layne, Avyn, and Liam. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary Kinast, Margaret Rymal, and Richard Kinast. She is also survived by her sisters in law, Nancy Laurino, Lillian Lukaski, Hattie Kupski, and Stella Swiecikowski. She was "Auntie Esther to many nieces and nephews and godmother of Karen Martyle and Ricky Zukowski. She will also be dearly missed by her loving caregiver and friend, Ania Januszek.
Visitation Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary 6:00 p.m. at Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (west of Hoover) Warren, Michigan. Visitation Thursday, March 17, 2022 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 3151 Farnsworth (corner of McDougall St.) Detroit, Michigan at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Roseville, Michigan.
