Eugenoula (Eugenia) Papadopoulos, age 74, of Chicago Illinois and Tarpon Springs, Florida, beloved wife of Veniamin Papadopoulos; and loving mother of Nikolaos Papadopoulos and Fotina Illyadis. Eugenia is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews of the Goggos, Savva, and Papadopoulos families in Greece. Eugenia was born in Mesoropi (Kavala) Greece and spent the last three years of her life under hospice care in the home of her loving son Nikolaos and Thomas Poleck in Chicago where she died peacefully on Sunday May 16, 2010. Eugenia's final years were made as comfortable as possible due to he excellent care from the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Hospice staff and voluneers and her long-term caretakers. Services will be held at St. Sophia Church, 1324 S. Normandie Ave., Los Angeles, California 90006 at 10 A.M. May 28, 2010. Interment will follow at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles. A memorial service will also be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at 10 A.M. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1017 N. LaSalle, Chicago, Illlinois 60610.
