Fr. Robert Francis Pawell, O.F.M. Franciscan priest for 50 years. Beloved son of the late Mae and Zygmunt Pawell; dear brother of Richard (Irva) Pawell and adopted brother of Richard Grott; uncle of Greg, Chris and Lynne Clemens-Pawell.

Fr. Pawell was born in Chicago and joined the Franciscans in 1956. His ministry included 20 years in New Orleans as Co-founder of the first church related aids hospice: Project Lazarus. Fr. Pawell ministered in Chicago at Mt. Carmel Spirituality Center, St. Bonaventure Shrine, and 18 years at St. Peters in the loop as confessor and spiritual director.

Wake service Friday, July 7, 2017 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Church, 110 W. Madison St., Chicago, IL 60602. Visitation Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Peter's Church, 110 W. Madison St., Chicago, IL 60602. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
