Obituary

Frank Mendoza went peacefully into his Mother Trinidad's arms on February 13, 2017 at 10:35 a.m. also greeting his Father Juan Mendoza. Joyful, happy memories of Uncle Frank bring comfort and smiles to so many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Frank's faith, hope, love, beautiful smile, sparkling big brown eyes and long eyelashes, grace, humility, compassion, and laughter will be extremely missed by his wife, Lynita "Lyn" and his surviving brothers and sisters, Martha (Roman) Sanchez, Santos (the late Lucia), Jesse, Estaban (Lillian), and John Mendoza. Preceded in death by Julia (Louis) Loaiza, Sammy, and Salvador Mendoza. Also survived by in-laws Jacquelyn "Irene" (the late Kenny) Mulvaney, Damian (Susie), Adam (Kris), and Leonard Zolciak. Also preceded in death by his grandparents and best friends.

A Funeral Mass for Frank will be held on February 20, 2017 at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N State St., Chicago, IL., rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a visitation until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment is at St. Mary's Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL. joining his beautiful mother. Celebrant of the mass will be Fr. John Boivin who celebrated Frank and Lynita's Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on September 4, 1999.

Frank attended Washburne Trade School where he learned the art of tailoring and at this time around 1945 he would attend Mass at Holy Name Cathedral. A tailor by trade, Uncle Frank's business advice will be greatly missed because he had an amazing business mind. Frank owned many successful businesses including the Lorraine Valet, Astor Cleaners, John Barleycorn, North Dearborn Realty and many more. Frank had a very interesting life, everyday Frank would thank God for the beautiful blue skies and sunshine of San Diego which made him very happy.

Uncle Frank always shared his love and generosity with so many families, friends, and charities. Frank has sponsored many children in Mexico and around the world for over 35 years through the organization World Vision. Babies and children's laughter always made Frank smile so he also gave to Smile Train and St. Jude's. Frank's deep faith in God has been the most important part of his life. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his memory to any of the following charities: World Vision, Smile Train, St. Jude's, Catholic Charities or Memorial Masses at your local parish.

Frank was truly a gift from God born on October 10, 1930. When giving his age he would always include the 9 months in his Mom's womb. So right now he would say he is 87 years old. Some advice from Uncle Frank that can help others: in life he would always say "Be a right guy" and "Before you get married, get to know the family."
Te amo muchachito! Nombre del Padre, Hijo, Esperitu Santo, Amen!
