George Bryan Thomas

George Bryan Thomas, age 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep, leaving behind a legacy of extraordinary leadership, unwavering dedication, and immeasurable love for his family, friends, and colleagues.

Born in Galesburg, Illinois, Bryan was the beloved son of the late Max Thomas and Shirley Watson. A proud Illini, he graduated from the University of Illinois and remained a lifelong, passionate fan of Illinois Fighting Illini football.

Bryan shared his life with his beloved wife, Dawn Alvarez Thomas. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and countless treasured memories between their homes in Chicago and Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

He was a proud and devoted father to Danielle (Kyle Kostell) and Dylan Thomas, both of Chicago, and a loving stepfather to Joseph Ferguson of Newport Beach, California, and Jake Ferguson (Haley) of Prosper, Texas. Nothing meant more to Bryan than his family, and he celebrated each of their accomplishments with immense pride.

For 39 years, Bryan devoted his career to CCMSI, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer. While his title reflected his success, those who knew him understood that his greatest passion was the people. Bryan often said that CCMSI was family, and its employees were the heartbeat of the company he loved so deeply. He was a mentor, a champion for others, and a leader who believed in helping people achieve more than they thought possible.

Bryan's happiest place wasn't behind a desk or in a boardroom—it was with his phone in hand, earbuds in, connecting with clients, encouraging colleagues, building relationships, and making the next sale. He genuinely loved what he did, and that enthusiasm inspired everyone around him. His work was never just a career; it was an extension of who he was.

Those fortunate enough to know Bryan will remember his infectious optimism, generous heart, quick wit, relentless work ethic, and remarkable ability to make everyone he met feel important. Whether offering advice, celebrating someone else's success, or simply sharing a laugh, Bryan left people better than he found them.

His legacy lives on not only through the company he helped build but through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, mentorship, integrity, and unwavering belief in others.

Bryan will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends, his CCMSI family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
