Jack Paul Palumbo passed away peacefully at his home on June 27, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.

Born in 1946, Jack grew up in El Cerrito, California. He graduated from El Cerrito High School and went on to attend college at the University of Nevada where he earned a degree in Business Management. Specialist Palumbo served in the U.S. Army Field Artillery during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals.

Jack enjoyed a successful career of more than 33 years at Ford Motor Company, all positions within the Customer Service Division. His various management positions took him and his family all over the United States. His career culminated with an assignment in Cologne, Germany where Jack was appointed the Manager of European Logistics, overseeing all Parts Depot Operations in Europe.

After moving to Chicago in retirement, Jack found his true passion as an architecture tour guide on the Chicago River for Wendella. Nothing made him happier than meeting all the people that came on the boat each day and to educate them about the city he loved.

A devout Catholic, Jack was a member of the Holy Name Cathedral parish in Chicago. He served as an usher and was involved in community outreach by feeding the homeless and knitting winter hats for the children of the city.

Jack will be remembered for his love of people, devotion to his family, and generosity of heart. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched and in the family that he loved so much. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife Linda of 54 years, and children Anna (Chris) Wallace and John (Alice) Palumbo.
