Janice Kleen Tomlinson passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022.

She and her brother John had a wonderful childhood in rural Emmet County, Iowa, with their parents Roy and Grace Kleen. After graduation from the University of Iowa, she received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Thereafter, she lived and worked in Chicago. After retirement she and her beloved husband, Allen Pavia, enjoyed travel, cooking and entertaining, theater, live music, gardening and raising the many adopted stray cats that continually showed up at their back door.

Janice faced a long battle against leukemia with the same grace, determination and inquisitiveness that defined her life.

Allen, Lee and Hannah will miss Jan so very much. She was the glue and the inspiration for her family and many friends.

A celebration of the life of Janice Kleen Tomlinson will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Michalik Funeral Home, 1056 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60642.
