It is with deep love and heavy hearts, our family announces the passing of our beloved, Jeffery Thien Duc Nguyen , who left us far too soon on September 2, 2025 at the age of 56 .

Everyone always knew when Jeffery entered the room. His cheerful "hello!" was unmistakable — loud, warm, and always followed by a big smile and a hearty laugh. His love was constant, his presence grounding, and his absence now leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Jeffery lived a life defined by selflessness, generosity, and a charitable spirit. Honoring his birth country, his compassion extended across the world to Vietnam. Jeffery made it his mission to help the Order of Carmel Discalced and Salesians of Don Bosco in Vietnam, supporting the Cistercian nuns, orphans, and communities through charitable acts both big and small. He never sought recognition, only the joy of giving and the hope of making someone's life a little better.

He is survived by his mother, sister, four brothers, many nieces, nephews, and grandnephews who cherished him deeply, and countless friends and relatives whose lives were better because they knew him.

While we mourn his passing, we celebrate his life — one marked by joy, laughter, faith, and love. We know that heaven is now just a little louder and a lot more joyful with his arrival.

May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Family and friends will meet on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at St. John Cantius Church, 825 North Carpenter Street, Chicago, Illinois 60642 for a 10:30 a.m. Visitation followed by a 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass.
