Jesus G.
Rodriguez
November 28, 2023
Jesus G. Rodriguez, beloved father and grandfather, of Chicago, Illinois, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the age of 77.
He was born in México in 1946 and raised in San Luis Potosí. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 18 and was proud to gain citizenship in 2003. Jesus met his wife, Carmen Rivera, in Chicago where they fell in love, established their family, and lived out their lives. For Carmen, Jesus provided stability and balance with his endearing and happy nature. In times of stress or grief, he was calm and even-keeled, offering easy going support. He was a lifelong employee at International Paper, providing for his family of three sons.
Living in Chicago West Town, Jesus and Carmen last resided in Portage Park and cherished their home when it was filled with their children, siblings, grandchildren, friends, and extended family. Jesus served as a faithful parishioner at St. Pascal Catholic Church. He admired sports especially soccer and boxing and was a devoted Cubs fan. He was particularly adept at dominoes because he was a sneaky yet crafty player. He was an avid reader never left home without a good read under his arm especially his love of Gangster/Mob chronicles and movies.
Jesus is survived by his three children, Jesús Jr. (Marivel), Mario (Anne), and Francisco (Veronica); and his six grandchildren, Michael (Emily), Daniel, Hannah, Katia, Carys, and Cielle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen, by four years and two days; May they now together rest in peace.
