John C. Pontius, age 77. Beloved husband of Kathleen; dear son of the late Bernard and Eulalia Pontius; fond brother of Mary Lou, Ronald (Barbara), and the late Bernard Pontius; fond uncle of nieces and nephews.
Visitation Friday, February 3, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State St., Chicago, Illinois 60611. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607-2906, phone 312-738-7560.
Retired from the Chicago Police Department after 37 years of service. For further information 312-421-0936.
