Joseph J. Butler, age 80, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, following an extended battle with Myotonia Disorder. Joe was born in 1943, to a large and loving Irish family. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Nora Butler (nee Crean) for 48 years. Loving son of the late Judge Joseph and Mary Butler; dear brother to Jaye (John) Bullaro and the late Joan Knes, Jane McGovern, Janis (Bill) Hayden, Joyce (Brent Gustafson) Butler; fun loving brother-in-law; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; grateful for the many wonderful and supportive friends in his life.

Proud veteran of the U.S. Army. The family would like to thank all of the kind and compassionate caregivers who helped Joe over the past years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at The Clare, 55 East Pearson Street, Chicago, Illinois 60611 at 10:30 a.m. Parking is available at The Clare.
