Obituary

Kelley H. Lynch. The best mother that her three boys (Liam, Hugh, and Teddy) could ever hope to have. She was the epitome of a giving mother in life, teacher of tough moments, friend in shared joy, or mentor in life's lessons.

Kelley grew up in Lenexa, Kansas and formed lifelong friendships from her high school years attending Notre Dame de Sion, an all-girls Catholic high school, of which she was extremely proud. After high school, ever the confident young woman, she went out East and attended Villanova University and formed friendships that continue to this day.

Ever seeking a challenge, she then moved to Chicago and decided to earn a law degree from Loyola University. The years after law school saw her fully embrace the City and the City in turn embraced her. She worked for the City of Chicago's Department of Law, ran a few Chicago Marathons, Hot Chocolates, Shamrock Shuffles, Runs for Gus, Lincoln Park Zoo Runs, and others. She was always active and ran or biked the lake front trail almost daily and kayaked the Chicago River. As a true connoisseur, she hit many of the new restaurants throughout the City's neighborhoods and embraced the rich sport scene (except for her unquestioning loyalty to the Kansas City Chiefs). And ever the intelligent person, she saw the error of her ways and wisely converted from being a Cub fan to the White Sox nation (though one might question the wisdom of such a decision this year).

Kelley also loved rescue dogs, having several over the years, including Bailey, Stella, and her current loyal friend Zoey. Kelley had an inner grace and calm which nurtured many lifelong friendships. Those who knew Kelley as a friend were the lucky ones, since she was loyal and giving.

She loved watching her boys excel in life, whether through running, school, art, or friendships. She loved to travel and was excited to share her love of Italy with the boys on a family trip on summer 2023. She always appreciated time with family, whether at home, at Lake Geneva or on big family trips.

Kelley is survived by her husband, Bryan; their three children, Liam, Hugh, and Edward "Teddy"; her parents, Robert and Judy Hoehn (nee Harris); her sister, K. Sarah Hoehn; her brother, Michael R. (Leah Nicole) Hoehn; her parents-in-law, William and Adele Lynch; her brother-in-law, William (Elise) Lynch; and many loving nieces and nephews.

We miss and think about Kelley - every day.
