Marie C. Meccia born to the late Onofrio and the late Vita Figarelli; wife to the late Aniello J. Meccia; mother to Fredrick (Michele), Neil, Frank, and Rose Marie; grandmother to Kate, Patrick, Freddy, Bridget, and Joey Meccia; sister to the late Joseph (the late Antoinette) Figarelli.

Graduate of St. Mary's High School, attended Mundelein College, graduated from Antoinette Pope School of French cooking, with an A.A. from the City College of Chicago. With an early modeling career, she was later an Associate Saleswomen in China, and Silver at Marshall Fields & Co, till retirement. Her passions were her religion, her marriage, her children and grandchildren and French and Italian cooking, with an emphasis on French Pastry Baking.

Visitation Friday, April 7, 2017 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Michalik Funeral Home, 1056 W. Chicago Ave. Chicago, IL 60642. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. John Cantius Church, 825 N. Carpenter St., Chicago, IL 60642 for a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
