Obituary

On May 22nd, 2019 Maureen (Schoeben) Keorkunian, 59, surrounded by her loving family in prayer was reunited with her best friend and cousin Cathleen Mary Elizabeth Morris, who has been waiting for her in Heaven since 1976.

She was born on June 16th,1959 in Albany Park, Chicago, IL to loving parents, Kenneth Schoeben and Therese (Geary) Schoeben, who preceeded her in death.

Surviving are the three greatest loves of her life, her daughters: Tiffany Keorkunian, Ashley Keorkunian, and Jessica (Bill) Harmon (Indiana).

Also surviving are her three beloved younger brothers: Kenny Schoeben (California), Garrett Schoeben (Chicago), and Kevin (Mary) Schoeben (Springfield). A loving aunt of Mary Marta, Nicholas, Erika, Patrick, Stephanie, Savannah, Jonathan, Amari, Olive, Zayla.

Nothing meant more to Maureen than her family and countless friends who were there for her. She was also able to draw strength from her beloved animals - Louie, Frankie, Allie (cats), Sheldon (turtle), and Grand-pup Wrigley and Grand-cat Stitch. She loved and cared for many animals including but not limited to Frisky, Bootsie, Fritzie, Tonya, Caesar, Gus, Peaches, Angel, Daisy, dogs Mugs, Mugsie and Sheba (2).

A hairdresser for 43 years, Maureen took great pride in making others feel better from the inside and out. She loved her clients like family and always worked hard to go the extra mile.

Maureen was always looking out for people who were less fortunate by inviting those who had no place to go for the holidays. She also had a sincere affection for all the stray cats in the neighborhood.

During the summer you could find Maureen enjoying time with friends and attending outdoor concerts as well as tending to her beautiful garden in her backyard. Some of her greatest summer memories were traveling with her friend Alan McClelland on the back of his Harley on long bike trips to various locales throughout the Mid-West.

Towards the end of her life she continued to grow closer to God and looked forward to getting to know Him better and spreading His love to all she encountered.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Fr. Brendan Gibson, SJC for all of his efforts guiding Maureen on her spiritual journey and preparing her soul for eternal life. We thank everyone for their prayers and support and for all that you have done to support our beloved Maureen.
