Obituary

Michael N. Shallow, age 95, eldest son of the late John and Leonida (Biever) Shallow; dear brother of the late Clarence (Eileen), John (Florence) and Leo (Barbara); uncle of David Shallow and Mary (Shallow) Tipton. He is survived by John's wife, Patricia Shallow.

He was the fond uncle of Carole (Dennis) Sendziol, John (Jeanne) Shallow, Thomas (Peg) Shallow, Dennis (Ayako) Shallow, Alan Shallow, Janice (Gary) Wright, Michael (Vicky) Shallow, Mark (Monica) Shallow, Maureen Caveney, James (Chris), and Karen (Brian) Stenmark as well as their children. His extended family includes members of the Biever and Crowley families as well.

Michael was a beloved and dear friend of many at River Plaza, the Bel Canto Society, the Pauls Foundation, the American Harp Society, and the Lyric Opera Overture Society.

He was a retired federal employee(Personnel Specialist) with over 30 years of service with the Railroad Retirement Board, 844 North Rush St., Chicago. He was an officer in the The American Legion, R.R.B Post No. 856 for many years. He was a World War II veteran with the 76th Infantry Division who celebrated their last reunion in Washington, D.C. in October, 2006.

Visitation Tuesday, May 14 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State Street, Chicago, IL 60611. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W 111th Street, Alsip, IL 60803.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Pauls Foundation, 3260 N. Lakeshore Drive, Apt. 12A, Chicago, IL., 60657.

Cards and expressions of sympathy may be mailed to Carole Shallow Sendziol, 2837 Bond Circle, Naperville, IL 60563.
