Philip Glen Carter, senior property manager with Community Specialists and 38 year partner of Michael Elkow, Jr. has lost his life suddenly to Sarcoidosis via a bacterial pneumonia infection on Friday, August 20, 2010 after a seven-day battle for his life in intensive care at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay, WI. At the time Philip was vacationing at his beloved country home in Door County, WI. He was born in Muscatine, IA on July 28, 1945, and moved with his Naval Military family, mother Ruby and father Delmar to locations as Long Beach, CA, Albuquerque, NM, Tennessee and Nevada; graduating from Las Vegas High School and University of Arizona in Flagstaff. Philip managed prestigious Chicago condominium buildings such 680 Lake Shore Drive, originally the American Furniture Mart and The John Hancock condominiums. He previously worked for The Lyric Opera as ticket manager and United Airlines upon graduating college. Philip loved helping people, dogs, travel, cooking, fine dining, and suspense-mystery books. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 26 at Michalik Funeral Home 1056 W. Chicago Ave. Chicago, from 3:30 p.m. till time of prayer service at 7:00 p.m. presided by Dr. John Boyle of the Fourth Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers donations to the Philip G.
