Philip L. Kennedy, age 92, was born in Chicago, the son of Frank and Esther (nee Ryan) Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita A. Cashman; brother Rev. Frank P. Kennedy; sister Mary (Bernard) Kennedy Witry. He is survived by his sisters, Sister Ellen Kennedy, OP and Sister Esther Kennedy, OP. He was a grateful uncle to Mary Ellen (the late Jay) Lester, nee Witry, Bernard J. (Kate) Witry, Lawrence (Margaret) Witry, Kathleen (Michael) Sheahan, Paul (Mary Kate) Witry; and many great nieces and nephews.

Phil had a variety of life experiences, including serving in the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict, as an ordained priest in the Catholic Diocese of Rockford, and as a psychotherapist and spiritual teacher in Chicago. He will be fondly remembered by the countless Friends of Bill W. with whom he trudged the road of happy destiny.

Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Old St. Patrick's Church, 700 West Adams Street, Chicago, Illinois 60661 for a 9:00 a.m. Visitation followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass.
