Rose Zelinski, nee Curatolo. Passed away October 18, 2015. Born March 15, 1928. Beloved wife of the late Theodore Zelinski; loving mother of Susan Goranowski (Peter) of St. Charles, MO, Joan Turner (Robert) of Alexander City, AL, Mary Borowicz (Andrew) of Des Plaines, IL, Frank of Kankakee, IL., and the late Michael of Kankakee, IL.; dear grandmother of eight grandchildren: Alex Goranowski, Shari Wojewoda, Michael Turner, Rachele Weaver, Jonathan Turner, Matthew Borowicz, Michael Borowicz, and Nicole Upton; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Rose was a 1946 graduate of Fenger High School, Chicago. She resided in the Roseland Area of Chicago until 1971 then relocated to Kankakee, IL. She earned a Clerical Degree from Kankakee Community College in 1976 and worked with the Kankakee School District 111 until retiring in 1995. Rose was an active member of All Saints Church Catholic Women's Club, Chicago, and St. Patrick's Church, Kankakee, where she functioned as a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion. Attending HS reunions and continuing to meet regularly with fellow women classmates—referred to as her "club girls" was a favorite activity. Attending opera performances with her dear friend, Carolyn, was a much anticipated event. Rose was the Fair Director and Superintendent at the KKK County Fair from 1995 – 2001, and was a member of the IAHCE. She enjoyed camping, attending miniature shows, reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing and various other crafts. She will be dearly, dearly missed by family and friends.
Visitation Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Our Lady of Hope Church, 9711 West Devon Avenue, Rosemont, Illinois 60018 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment private.
