Rev. Stephen M. Gira's Obituary
Rev. Stephen M. Gira, C.R., 59 years of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on December 6, 2010. He was born July 19, 1951, in Chicago, IL. He is the son of Erwin and the late Theresa (Grzechowiak) Gira.
Fr. Gira was a member of the Congregation of the Resurrection, and was the Parochial Vicar at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Illinois.
Also surviving are aunts, Sr. Mary Edward C.R., and Sr. Rosemary C.R., and beloved cousin, Bishop Robert J. Kurtz, Bishop of Hamilton in Bermuda, his priests and brothers of the Congregation of the Resurrection, along with other relatives, and many dear friends.
He was also preceded in death by uncles, Frank Gira, Fr. Edward Gira C.R., and Fr. Francis Grzechowiak C.R..
Visitation Monday, December 13, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at The Sisters of the Resurrection Convent, 7432 W. Talcott, Chicago, Illinois 60631. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Illinois. For further information 312-421-0936.
