Theresa Ann Hufnagel, age 84, died peacefully at home early Christmas morning surrounded by family and love. She was one of nine children born to Trubie and Marie Wiewel in Okarche, Oklahoma. She attended Holy Trinity School and went on to receive her Nursing Degree at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed sewing and painting, and she was an avid runner, many times winning first place in her age group.

Theresa was raised on a farm in Oklahoma. She was a devoted sister to Ruth Baustert (deceased), James Wiewel (deceased), Alice Harris, Paul Wiewel (deceased), Carolyn Wiewel (deceased), Martha Wiewel, Andy Wiewel (deceased) and Max Wiewel.

She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Raymond Hufnagel with whom she rode the school bus with since first grade. They were two weeks shy of their 63 ^rd wedding anniversary at the time of her passing. She kept him on his toes with her spunk and energy for life.

She was an amazing mother to five children:  Ann Watson (Norman, OK), Frank Hufnagel (Laguna Beach, CA), Joan Hyde (Chicago, IL), Julie Wieshuber (Chicago, IL), and Lyn Hufnagel (Charlotte, NC).

She adored her ten grandchildren, who referred to her as "Treese":  Justin and Kyle Hufnagel, Parker and Aaron Watson, Lily, May and Greta Hyde, Eleanor and Laina Wieshuber, and Kisule Hufnagel.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Michalik Funeral Home, 1056 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60642. In compliance with local COVID-19 guidelines, face masks are required.

Family and friends will meet Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Assumption Church, 323 West Illinois Street, Chicago, Illinois 60654 for a 10:00 a.m. Visitation followed by an 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment private, Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
