Veniamin (Ben) Papadopoulos, age 93, of Chicago Illinois and Tarpon Springs, Florida. Beloved husband of the late Eugenia; loving father of Nikolaos Papadopoulos and the late Fotini Illyadis. Veniamin is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews mostly in Greece. Veniamin is the last surviving sibling of his generation of the Papadopoulos family.

Veniamin was born in Greece but spent the final years of his life in Florida and Illinois under the care of his loving son, Nikolaos and his spouse Thomas Poleck. Veniamin was also lovingly cared for by Isabella Carrasquillo and Kaliope Pizanis and the dedicated staff at the Unity Hospice of Chicagoland.

Veniamin loved life and was a Korean War era veteran, serving with the allied forces and proudly wore his military jackets and hats throughout his later life. He imported and exported goods between the U.S. and Greece for a good part of his life and later could be found at local flea markets selling antiques and military surplus goods.

A small graveside service and interment will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, California at 3:00 p.m. The service will also be shown virtually on Zoom due to the participants size limitations at the cemetery.
