Walter R. Heffernan, age 56, beloved husband of Liz (nee Jorth), cherished father of Brian and John Heffernan, loving son of Geraldine and the late John F. Heffernan, treasured brother of Peni, Michael, Thomas (Mary) and Chris (Andy) Fassett and the late John, Jim, David and Bill (Sharon) Heffernan and brother-in-law of Karen Heffernan and Sue Jorth. He was the adored uncle of 10, great-uncle of 1 and dear friend to many. Walter was a graduate of the University of Detroit School of Architecture in 1976. He worked as an architect at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, HOK and Perkins and Will in the Chicago area and spent several years in Kuwait working for Pan Arab Consulting Engineers.
