Rev. Walter M. Wilczek, C.R., (July 2, 1927 – September 1, 2010)
Beloved member of the Congregation of the Resurrection, devoted a life of service to the Catholic Church and education (with great passion for athletics and the arts). His service touched many lives in many locations over the years, including: Weber High School, Teacher (1954-60); Gordon Tech High School, Teacher and Principal (1960-73); St Joseph Parish, Fontana, CA, Associate Pastor (1973-75); Archdiocese of Chicago, Director of Secondary Schools (1975-82); Notre Dame High School, Riverside, CA, Principal (1982-86); Invested Knight Commander of the Holy Sepulchre 1985; St. Stanislaus B.&M. Parish, Chicago, Pastor (1987-93); most recently he had been retired resident at St. Hedwig Parish. Dear son of the late Adam and Mary Wilczek, fond brother of Helen (the late Bruno) Zielinski, the late Mary (the late John) Kawula, and the late Ann (the late Joseph) Swiech, also cherished uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Lying in state Tuesday, September 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Prayer service at 7 p.m., and Wednesday September 8, from 3 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 7 p.m. (reception to follow) at St. Hedwig Church, 2226 N.
